| AIXAM, Europe’s largest manufacturer of light vehicles,
has introduced a new and larger model with the versatility to
handle everything from shopping trips around town to longer journeys
and holidays.
AIXAM’s new Crossline retains the characteristics that
mark the AIXAM range out from mainstream cars. With a two-cylinder
505cc petrol engine, automatic gears and an ABS bonded acrylic
body shell mounted around a rigid aluminium chassis and passenger
safety cell, the Crossline is a highly practical choice that also
offers higher levels of comfort and refinement, as well as a roomier
interior and generous boot capacity of 900 litres.
Lawrence Holland, general manager of UK importer AIXAM Ltd, says
that AIXAM wanted to extend the appeal of its range and create
a vehicle that raises the bar for vehicles in this class.
He said: “The Crossline clearly carries the AIXAM signature
in terms of practicality, and it has been designed to offer a
comfortable ride for driver and passengers over longer journeys.
“It also has distinctive styling that will have broad appeal,
including 14” alloy wheels, aluminium roof bars, and a streamlined
body shape, which have been incorporated into a carefully-engineered
body that outperforms all its competitors in the manoeuvrability,
side impact and head-on crash tests developed for vehicles in
this class.”
The Crossline has a top speed of 60 miles per hour, and average
fuel consumption of 53 miles per gallon. Its construction makes
it corrosion-free and almost 100 per cent recyclable at the end
of its life.
Like all AIXAM vehicles the Crossline is offered with a comprehensive
two year warranty and 12 months’ free breakdown cover, backed
up by a UK-wide network of dealers offering sales and servicing.
