Is a Driving Licence required to drive an AIXAM?
Yes, the driver will require a licence in category B1 which can be either a full UK car licence or a full motorcycle licence if granted before February 2001.

What is the minimum age to drive an AIXAM?
17 years of age and in possession of a driving licence (as per above)

How does a quadricycle differ from a car?
Under EEC Directive 92/61/EC (superseded to 2002/24/EC) a new vehicle category was created. Quadricycles are defines as having a maximum unladen mass of 400kg and a maximum power of 15KW. AIXAM vehicles are specifically designed to meet these specifications.

Will an AIXAM Quadricycle need to pass an MOT?
Yes, once the vehicle reaches 3 years of age it will require a Standard Class 4 MOT with no requirements for CO2 emissions testing and braking efficiences tested using Tapley measure rather than a rolling road. Should you require further details please contact AIXAM.
